Peace Camp Canada International is proud to be partnered with Ryerson University and The Bishop Strachan School in bringing its program to Toronto. The program will be held from July 14th to August 22nd 2008, and will consist of the following two phases:
The first phase will be held over a two-week period (July 14th – July 28th)
at the Bishop Strachan School. Here, the program will focus primarily on
our core work of intensive dialogue and leadership building. Indeed, during
this period youth delegates from Israel and the Palestinian territories
will work to break down negative stereotypes, build trust and learn about
the respective cultures, histories and daily
narratives of the other.
In phase two of the program held at Ryerson University (July28th – August
23rd ), youth delegates will transform all the learning, stimulus and raw
energy generated as a result of the core program into creative films they
will co-write, film and produce with the aid of Canadian film mentors. Professional
film makers from Ryerson University will therefore work together with other
Canadian film professionals to guide and mentor the youth through daily
workshops and hands on seminars. At the end of the program, youth delegates
will showcase their jointly created films to the public at Peace Camp Canada’s
closing ceremonies held August 21st 2008 on the Ryerson Campus.
